A Series of Sound-Related Epidemics

Behind my catchy title hides an audiovisual "series" on a fictional "epidemic" linked to sound chatter.

Indeed, the post-apocalyptic series entitled "Hot Skull" deals with an illness which is spread by voice: patients babble incoherent but very contagious sentences. Healthy people should not wear gloves or masks, but rather noise-canceling headphones. And for a site about sound like LaSonotheque, it's a great idea.

The series is available on Netflix and the pitch is as follows: "a tyrannical institution hunts down a linguist immune to a disease that spreads through verbal communication".

I would be incapable of writing a film review, but I must admit that I appreciated the series, as much for this idea of sound as a vector, as for the technical and artistic achievement.
