Use cases

  • Sleep & focus: pink or brown noise masks ambient noise and helps falling asleep.
  • Room acoustics test: looped white/pink noise reveals room resonance modes.
  • Audio system calibration (SPL meter + pink noise at -20 dBFS).
  • Tinnitus masking with calibrated noise (consult a professional).
  • Sound design: raw material for wind, rain, ambiences.

FAQ

Which color for sleep?

Brown noise is most often recommended: its energy is in the lows, more soothing and less tiring than white. Pink is also widely used.

White vs pink vs brown noise?

White: same energy at all frequencies (high, hissing). Pink: rolls off 3 dB/oct (perceived as "balanced"). Brown: rolls off 6 dB/oct (very low). Blue and violet do the opposite (energy in the highs).

Why is there a sleep timer?

For sleep/relaxation use, auto-stop avoids leaving playback running all night (auditory fatigue, energy and battery savings).

How to download a file longer than 10 minutes?

The limit is intentional: at 96 kHz / 24-bit / mono, 10 minutes is already ~173 MB. For long listening, the looping playback with sleep timer is sufficient.
